Current Role:
Bhagyvati graduated in 2012 with a BSc Honours from City University. She has been working as a paediatric speech and language therapist for over 10 years, working within the NHS and as an independent therapist. Bhagyvati has experience of working with children and young people with a range of complex communication needs including, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay and Paediatric Dysphagia (eating and drinking difficulties).
Bhagyvati has a specialist interest in working with people with Autism and their families. She is passionate about collaborative working, aiming to work with children and their families to support them to achieve jointly agreed outcomes.
Bhagyvati has worked in a wide range of settings including child development centre, mainstream schools, children centres, nurseries, community clinics and specialist resource provisions. Within her various job roles, she has carried out assessment, diagnose and put together intervention plans.
Bhagyvati frequently delivers training to parents and education staff to support their understanding of working with complex communication needs. Bhagyvati is keen to provide individualised care. She uses a range of intervention approaches including Picture Exchange Communication (PECs), Intensive interaction, Parent Child Interaction (PCI), Attention Autism and SCERTs.
Bhagyvati prides herself on working alongside families and health/education colleagues to ensure children and their families feel well supported.
